The bus has finally arrived and it is really goodbye!

Now we are waiting for the new local missionaries coming from

the Manila MTC.  The bus has arrived!  Some of the new foreign 

missionaries that arrived the day before are waiting with us.

Home to Arizona for Gran'Marie's Funeral May 2012

Here I am in the middle of my beautiful sisters-in-law...

Kristen Geobel, Nancy Barton, me, Paula Dahl and 

Maryann Carpenter.  We are pictured here together at the 

Bunker's Mortuary, where we had the wonderful opportunity of

 dressing our beloved Gran'Marie the day before the viewing.  It 

was indeed a privilege to be a part of performing that final act 

of service for her.  We love her so!

Here was a happy occasion we had while I was home.  It was 

Jenifer's birthday on the May 9th & Brett's on the 10th.  

(My son & daughter-in-law) Brett is looking a little scary here! 

:-)  Somehow we got him bugging his eyes at the kids.  His wife, 

Jenifer and I are looking on.  These four children belong to my 

son, Layne & his wife, Katie....we see the back of Brinkley's 

beautiful hair (She's 3), then Carter (7), 

Brody (5...His birthday's the same day as Brett's),

 and Caleb (9). 

This is my beautiful grandson, Ammon, with the big blue

eyes.  He was born in December so I hadn't got to hold

him until now!  He is the fifth child born to our son, Grant,

and our beautiful Amy!  He is our 12th grandchild.

We got him to sleep.  I don't think that happened to often on

the trip to Arizona.  He missed his brothers and sisters in 

Kentucky too much!

Here I am with my sweet & beautiful daughters-in-law!  Starting

from the left is Amy (Married to my oldest son, Grant), Me, 

Katie (Married to my 3rd son, Layne) and Jenifer (Married to

my fourth son, Brett)  The is a fun picture as you can see a picture

of George (President Peterson) with his mother in the background

being shown on a screen!  This was at the viewing Friday night.

Here is my 5th son, Clint, with my 3rd son, Layne, at the

viewing.  Can you tell they are brothers? :-)

Here is some of the beautiful displays of Marie's life.  We have

our dear friend, Melanie Conway, to thank for that!

You can barely see the beautiful portrait of Marie in the big frame 

by the tree.  On display here is one of her pretty chairs. She 

always had lovely furnishings in her home.  You can see a colorful 

winter knit cap hanging on the back of the chair.  Everyone in the 

family has one made in different bright colors with a huge 

pompom tassel on the top, especially made by Gran'Marie!

Our granddaughter, Brinkley and daughters-in-law, Katie, 

Amy and Jenifer at the viewing Saturday morning before the 

funeral.  You can see the beautiful flowers on our Gran'Marie's

casket on the left.  Barbie Dee Barton did a wonderful job with

the flowers!

This is my beautiful family, Kathy Allen, my sister-in-law, 

Robin Allen, my brother, Kandy Sherwood, my twin sister, and 

 Cheryl Sugar and Melody Ellingson, my sisters. 

(Oops, where's Jay?) My dear friend, Melanie Conway, took 

this picture for me!  I am so thankful she did!  It is the only 

picture I got of them.  This is taken in the cultural hall of our 

chapel, as they are waiting for the funeral to start.

This was a special family time Saturday morning, before the 

funeral, where grandchildren could take turns expressing 

feelings and memories they had with their Gran'Marie.

Grandsons except our dear son, Joseph and August Geobel, 

who were not able to be there.  Back row, starting at the

Here is Bishop Marble saying a few words before all the 

great grandchildren sang "Families Can Be Together Forever".

Steve Dahl, her son-in-law, who is in the background in the red

tie, gave a beautiful dedicatory prayer for her resting place.

This the Aguilar family.  Clara took such loving care of our 

Gran'Marie!  Even when Marie went to an assisted living home, 

Clara would visit her five days a week and fix her hair and 

make-up so she could feel beautiful!  Marie & Clara became 

"best friends".  We owe so much to Clara, along with 

her kind husband and 3 handsome sons!

Ammon, Amy and I, each going home...them to Kentucky,

and me to the Philippines!  It is so sad to leave them, but 

I do miss my dear husband and the missionaries!

Hospital Episode

Brave Elder Diaz in hospital for kidney stones.  He is determined 

to always drink lots of water and eat healthy always!  Kidney 

stones are not fun!  Elder Diaz is a hardworking assistant to 

President Peterson!  We love him and are glad his pain was not 

for something more serious!  He is better now!

Visit to Marinduque

When we went for interviews on Marinduque, we decided to spend

the night so we could go to church in one of the Branches there,

the Baco Branch.  We stay at the Villa Aplaya which has a 

beautiful setting on the beach.  Here we are having pandasal roll

and pineapple juice before going to church.

Isn't this a beautiful view?  This would be a nice place to sit

and read a good book and just enjoy the view!
