Miscellaneous pictures during Transfer week January 29-30, 2014

Sister Lacanienta, Me and Sister Burnham. Love these sisters!

Good friends Elder Caling and Sister Banzali...Someone else was
taking their picture so I took one with my camera too...

Elders Quinco and Caling.  They have been Zone Leaders
together in Lipa.  Elder Quinco came from the Tacloban Mission
after the Typhoon and now he's going back to Tacloban.  We
are sad to see him go, but Elder Caling is the saddest! They have
really enjoyed being companions!

Here's some of the Trainers going to the Alaminos Ward Chapel
next door to get matched up with a new missionary to train!
Sisters Smart, Gaspar de Alba, Brown, Burnham, Ott and
Buckley.

The Assistants are pictured with the new Zone Leaders
and Sister Training Leaders and their companions. Elders
Boyd and Malit (Assistants), Elders Mallari, Polatis, Sister
Aotriz, Elder Hansen, Sister Cowley, Elder Pelayo, Sister
Umiten, Elder Aguilar, Sister Warburton, Elder Caling,
Sister Baird and Elder Rivera.

Our dear Sister Galabo is going back to Tacloban Mission!  We
will miss her!

President taking a "selfie" with Sister Galabo... :-)

Elders Branzuela, Layugan, and Cordova visiting and eating some
of Sister Peterson's cookies!

Another one of our missionaries from the Tacloban Mission going
back!  We will miss Elder Maramba too!

This is Elder Sardido Came in all by himself.  He wasn't able to
get a flight to come with the rest of the January batch.  We are
glad he made it!  He's a very nice young man.

Elder Santillian is another of our fine missionaries from the
Tacloban mission!  He is our latest one to leave!  They are taking
them back one or two at a time from here!  I know there are 10
other missions in the Philippines going through the same thing!
Each of the missionaries did so well to fit into our mission and
keep their vision and purpose strong!  We love them and will
miss them!

This is Elder Cordova from our mission who happens to be going
home the same time Elder Santillian was going to Tacloban so they
could catch a bus together to Manila and go from there.

President loves his missionaries...not matter what!!

Attended a Baptism of this sweet family in Siniloan, taught by
Elders Acain and Williamson.

This is a happy typical sight in the Philippines.  They are often
celebrating some kind of Fiesta!

Two Elders (Kaafi and Bandoy) waving good-bye as they are
waiting for a bus across the street!

Some time later...They're still waiting!

It finally comes!  The final wave as they go off to their new areas!

Transfer Week...Incoming Missionaries January 2014

Some of the new arrivals are shown here as they just got off the
bus and we're headed to the mission home. Pictured is Sister
Hansen, Sisters Valdez, Lisaca, Pajo, Me, Dicen, President and
Elder Dela Cruz.  These are the missionaries that have come from
the Manila MTC.

Here we are bringing in the luggage and welcoming our local
missionaries (Manila MTC)...President, Elders Bituen, Abad,
and Ano-Os (one of our office elders).

I love this picture when President gathers the new missionaries
around his desk to show them a map of the mission.  This is half
of the group. They came from the Manila MTC. Sisters Kelleher,
Valdez, Elder Dela Cruz, Sisters Dicen, Lisaca, Pajo, Elders
Abad, and Bituen.

Here's the foreigners coming in for this batch.  Our APs, Elders
Merriam and Malit are leading the way across the street with their
luggage, etc.

This is President showing his map to the foreigner missionaries...
You've got to love Elder Williamson's smile!!

Walking from the bus with the new Foreigners coming from the
Provo MTC...

President, Sisters Ramsey, Temaaka, Johnson, Rasmussen, Elder
Wooden, Sister Hansen, Me (with my eyes closed!), Sister
Beaumont and Elder Hansen headed for the Mission home...

When the missionaries first arrive, we gather their luggage to
the carport area at the mission home...

Here they are all together with President and I.  From the

Transfers...Outgoing Missionaries, January 2014

It's so hard to let our couples go!!  But I guess their family needs
them also!!  This is Elder and Sister Gines who gave the Lord
(and us!) a wonderful 18 months out of their busy lives to serve
the people of the Philippines and bring happiness into their lives
and most especially into the lives of our missionaries!  Thank you,
thank you for all you did here!  It's a big adjustment to have you
gone!  The Lord, I'm sure will find something else for you to do
there!  We Love You!!

Elder Shepherd and Elder Salisbury are a part of the January
batch of missionaries going home, but they had to leave at the first
of the month...Elder Shepherd, because of Visa problems and
Elder Salisbury for getting in school... We will miss them both so
much!  They were great missionaries!

These four missionaries had to leave by the 15th because of
visa situations also! Sister Hadley, Elder Jones, President, Me,
Elder Leavitt and Sister Meti.  It's so hard to say good-bye!

Here is the rest of the batch for January missionaries!  They left
on the 29th as originally scheduled! They live in the Philippines,
so no problems with visas!  Elders Biala, Maiz, Sister Narciso,
President, Me (Yes, I got rained on!), Elders Rivera and
Pascua.  We love them all!

Elders Malit and Merriam.

Miscellaneous Pictures January 2014

Our Dear Spencer Abanggan came for a visit. It's always good to
see him.  He told us he is planning to marry Barbie soon after she
returns from working on the cruise ship!  It will be in the Manila
temple before we leave!  We are excited about that!

This was a family from Sariaya who were just sealed in the temple.
Elder and Sister Douglas got to witness the sealing!

Elders Lalo and Villador are with Elder Villador's Uncle, who was
picking them up to give a ride to the bus station for going home!
We will miss them!

This is one of the missionaries who came to us from Tacloban,
Elder Usario.  He is headed back to his mission in Tacloban. He
is in the first batch of missionaries going back.  We will miss him!
He is a sweet missionary!

We saw these horses trotting down the highway as we were
waiting for a bus!

Elder Cambinian, one of our Tacloban missionaries went home for
medical reasons and hopes to come back and finish his mission.
That will be in Tacloban... We'll miss him.

Not a great picture...That's what happens sometimes when
someone takes a picture and is not used to the iPad.
We are visiting Canlubang Ward with Sisters Burt. Finau, Darasin,
Me, Sister Meti, President and a sweet family that we have gotten
to know in the Ward there.  Great people!

BAPTISM IN LOS BANOS
Sisters Abubo and Kekauoha, with their new convert and his 4 yr.
old daughter, Me, and President...at the baptism.

Sister Kekauoho on the keyboard and Sister Kerr on the Violin.
They played prelude, special musical number suring the baptism.

JONNEL PASCUA AND PRINCESS LIAHONA BOCOBO
GARCIA WEDDING IN MANILA TEMPLE
The happy couple just coming out of the temple after their sealing.

I had to include this picture with President in it to show that we
actually attended the wedding! For some reason, we didn't
get a picture of us with them.  That made me sad.

 The happy couple!!

This is the bride and groom with Jonnel's family.

Bride and groom are pictured with the bride's family.

Mission Leaders Council January 2014

This is a practice Ward/Branch Council Meeting.  It was good for
the missionaries to practice how one of these Council meeting
should be run... And how to help it be an effective meeting getting
the members more involved in Hastening the Work of Salvation.
