District Leaders Training

After the training of the District Leaders, I took lots of pictures.

This is Elders Malit, Polatis, Silvosa, and Elder Tagulao.  Elder 

Silvosa is a district leader and is still training Elder Polatis. Elder 

Tagulao is also a district leader and training Elder Malit..

On the left, is Elder Alvaro who is the district leader for 

Mariduque.  He is training Elder Saunders (on the right).

This is Elder Carino and Merriam (the trainer and district leader).

Zone Leaders Council, January 2013

Zone Leaders Council

Here we are getting ready for Zone Leaders Council to start. Yes,

they do look excited don't they?  In this picture, you can see half

of Elder Knight, Elders Pascua, Diaz, Pratt, Guyer, Clark, Orro,

Nance, Delos Santos (office elder), Nalesoni (in front), Naeata

(with his head turned), Mendoza, Yost (office elder, in back),

Sollano (in front), and Libutti (with his mouth opened).

One the other side of the room we have Elders, Bandiola (AP),

Burton, Caubalejo, Cook, Meniano, Navarro (peeking through),

Lacson, Tolentino, Knight, Pascua, Pratt and Guyer.

The Smith's participated in our Zone Leaders Council.  They were

staying with us for a vehicle training/inspection that we had that

morning. 

We are now in the office getting reimbursements along with 

gathering pouch and supplies for their zone-mates! The office

elders, who are behind the counter are Elders Yost and 

Delo Santos.  Elders Cook and Burton are next.

Elder Yost is giving Elder Libutti his accident report form.  He was

not too happy about me taking the picture...But it is a part of what

is happening! :-)

Zone Interviews, January, 2013

I didn't take pictures at zone interviews this time.  We were doing

two a day...so by the time we finished one zone in the morning, we

were rushing off to the next one.  There just wasn't much time for

picture taking. Here is a picture of President giving counsel. While 

he was doing interviews, the Zone Leaders gave a workshop on 

finding people to teach...Chapter 9 in Preach My Gospel (PMG).  

Then the Assistants to the President (APs) gave a workshop on

recognizing the doctrine in our lessons from chapter 3 in PMG 

and teaching the doctrine and the principle that come out of it.

If there was still time, I got to give words of wisdom 

concerning nutrition.  In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we read that 

our body in a temple for the Holy Ghost to reside and we

are not our own but have been bought with a price (through

the Atonement).  We are told to glorify God in our body and

in our spirit, which belongs to him.  We discussed the importance

of taking care of our bodies, so we can be blessed with the 

companionship of the Holy Ghost to guide us in our missionary

work.  I brought up the food pyramid to discuss how important

it is to have a balanced diet. About that time, President would

be done with interviews and he would give his counsel about 

finding  and about knowing and teaching the doctrine 

in our lessons.

I always leave them with a snack...2 homemade cookies and a 

juice. This is a picture I took as we were leaving one of the zones.

Another thing we do when we come for zone interviews is we

bring pouch, mail and packages that have come to the mission 

home for missionaries in the zone we are visiting.  Here are Elders 

Polatis, Ano-Os, Viloria and Manzon, who are so happy to be

receiving something! :-)

Good-bye to Clint...

Here we are at the airport... It is so dark because

Clint's flight was 8:00 am so we had to leave the Mission

home by 4:30 am so we would get him there in plenty

of time...and we did! :-)

So sad to see him go.  It was so good to have him!

Father and son...both so handsome.

Good-bye, Clint!  Thanks for being such a good sport!  It was a

wonderful Christmas gift to us! Love you, love you!  Have a

successful happy new year, 2013!!

Our Excursion at Pagsanjan Falls with Clint, December, 2012

Pagsanjan Falls 

Because of the bad storm recently, the water level was very high 

and the water was much dirtier looking.  We start out going up 

stream and connected to other boats and the front one has a 

motor...

It is now paddling time. We have a rower in the front and the back

and the three of us are in the middle just enjoying the scenery.  

We are traveling "upstream", so it's not an easy job!  It

is beautiful and the pictures don't really do it justice.

As we travel upstream, most of the pictures look like the water is

very smooth...That's because we have to "hold on" through the 

rapids and can't take a photo!  Here we are passing another group.

Like I said, pictures don't do it justice...

This is as far as we got to go because the water 

level was so high they wouldn't take us all the way.

They have a raft that they take those who want

to experience it...and get wet! The main falls at

the end of the trail is much bigger...
