President's Birthday, October 8, 2013

Happy Birthday George!!  The big 63!  Good times! Wonderful
food and great company!

Beautiful picture I took on the way home!

The sun is setting... A little blurry through the windshield!

Baptism in Lucban October, 2013

Whoever took this picture somehow cut out Elder Burton!  Elder
Toro, his companion is on the far left in the back. President and I
are in the middle with the Sister and Elder Hansen on the right.
I don't know the names of all these people who attended the
baptism, but the one on the left, kneeling down in front is the one
who was baptized.  It was sure a sweet spirit during the service!
Most of those attending, including the one baptized are deaf.
Elder Burton is well-versed in sign-language.  It was a blessing to
be there and see him talk to the members in sign...A hidden talent!
Elder Burton (trainer), Elder Toro (trainee), Me, President, Sister
and Elder Hansen.  Elder Burton is doing a great job training Elder
Toro.  They both seem to be very happy serving together!

New Missionaries from Sri Lanka, October, 2013

Here we are with Elder Perera...

...and Elder Albakoon...These two Elders came to the MTC too
late to get any Language training, so they stayed an extra 4 weeks
from their batch that came in September.  They are very happy
missionaries that seem excited to be serving.  It is so fun to see
these young missionaries coming from many different countries and
happy to serve wherever they are called!  They are a great
example to us!  We are so happy to have them all!

Our New Senior Couple October, 2013

Our brand new senior couple, Elder and Sister Farrales, came
with us to the Cabuyao, where we attended General Conference.
They will be a wonderful asset to the mission.  They are orginally
from the Philippines, but have lived in Rhode Island the last
17 years.  They were so excited to come and serve in their
homeland and see many of their children and grandchildren
that still reside here!

These are some young girls who were anxious to speak English
to us at the General Conference in between sessions...So cute!

Transfer Week September, 2013 Incoming Missionaries

OUR NEW BATCH OF MISSIONARIES...

Wow!  This is the first time we've had the bus drive all the way up
to the mission home compound!

Yes, they are going to back in!

You see the helper pounding on the bus to signal whether to keep
going or stop and go forward to adjust!  That is a typical way
with all drivers in the Philippines.  Someone will always be nearby
to help you back in or out of a parking place! Very helpful!

Almost there!

They made it!

Yea! They are here! We are always excited to get the new
missionaries.  This was a grand entrance with that bus! :-)

From the left, Sisters Williams, Martinez, Elder Evelarion,Sisters

Their first Jeepney ride to their hotel for the night, then back in the
morning for breakfast, more training and then they meet their

After the transfer training meeting we are sitting and visiting while
we wait for rides to the sisters' areas.  It is kind of hard to get to
their areas with all of their luggage! Pictured here are Sisters
